New type of Phishing message

Well as the fight against spammers garners some victories the spammers fight back in the form of a new phishing message. I’ve sure you have all recieved the ones telling about some rich uncle who passed away and now they need you to help them get the money out of the bank. You give thme your bank account information and they are going to put millions in your account. When all that really happens is the spammers clean out your bank account. Well I saw a new one today where they offer you a job. I would post the message, but I don’t want to be associated with this type of content. You take the job accepting payments form their customers and put the money in your bank account. Then you and the fictitious company split the profits. Of course you will need to give them your bank account info. I’m sure if you do this then they will clean out your account as soon as you give them the info. Hopefully any people won’t fall for this new scam. If something is too good to be true it probably is.

Squidoo Gets Stats

Do you use  Squidoo to help promote your sites? If not you should. Another great use for Squidoo is to promote affiliate products. Sort of a Bum Marketing tactic. I’ve used it for all these items and have quite a few lenses I have created on various subjects. One of the most powerful features of Squidoo is the speed with which a lense will gain search engine rankings in Google and they will also get some decent page rank with just a little promotion. You can then use your lenses to get other websites a visit from the Google Bot.

But one thing that has always been missing from Squido was a stats package. If you wanted any information about where your traffic was coming from or anything else about your visitors you where forced to put some third part tracking code on you lenses and then you where only allows HTML tracking code which severely limited the type of stats you could gather. Well its not that way anymore. The team at Squido have rolled out a new feature that gives you information on where your visitors are coming from as well as what links they clicked on. Great stuff. If you have not looked at your account today, you may want to check out the features.

Where are your eggs

I’m sure you have all heard about the dangers of putting your eggs all in one basket. Jonathan at SmartWealthRich speaks  on this subject and makes some good points. Perhaps this is not great for Blogs. It may be best to put your Blogging egg in one basket.  The key to  successful blogging is to create interesting and compelling content that engages your readers. Can you do that with 20 blogs or is it likely that with the larger number of blogs you try to manage the worst your content becomes? As someone who has tried to maintain several blogs, I can say in my case the quality of my posts suffers.

Perhaps you are a lot better than I in the this area or perhaps you will suffer from the same problem. There are many full time bloggers who only maintain one blog or at the most a couple. I wonder why that is. I guess it boils down to whether you want to be an A-List Blogger or just another blogger in the realm of millions. I would rather my eggs in the right basket with my own purple cow.
