Checking out BlogRush

Well, I finally got around to installing BlogRush on this site. This is actually a decent concept for bringing in new traffic to your blog. It basically works like a link exchange program except the site promises to bring targeted traffic. We’ll have to see how it works out. Can’t really hurt anything and could help out a lot with traffic. There was some controversy where a lot of spam type blogs had gotten into the system and they deleted quite a few. Like anything else on the web there is room to abuse the service, but for those who use it properly it has potential to bring some additional eyes to your work. I figure it does not take up much realestate so why not try it.  I do wish there was a method for modifying the look of the box to match your site colors. Perhaps this will be a feature for a later version. You can read more at the BlogRush site.

This number has increased considerably due to the fact that Google, Yahoo, Microsoft and other prominent players on the web facilitated it by offering free blogs. Despite this phenomenal expansion of the universe of blogs, very few have realized that they can post a blog to serve their business and financial interests.

Finding old websites

Everyone knows that the older the domain the more Google loves it. There are a lot of websites on the web who have built up authority over the years but for some reason the owners have just lost interest. Some of these sites have a lot of potential if you can just find them. MakeBeta has created a tool that will help you with this daunting task. It may be worth reading the posts at MakeBeta and download the open source tool written and released by Justin Laing. Its pretty cool and could turn out to be very useful and profitable in the right hands.
