Just participating in the big bang meme has helped my authority a lot. Technorati determines authority based on a couple of factors and one of these its the number of other blogs linking to you over the past six months. The big bang meme gives you a lot of links as new people post the meme and has people who have already participated update their list and ping tecnhorati with the updates.

Does anyone happen to know if being “favorited” at Technorati improves one’s ranking or not? I always thought that authority and ranking were based solely on the number of backlinks (i.e., “blog reactions”), but I have noticed that some people in the Entrecard system are selling Technorati favorites for credits, which implies that being favorited has some value.

Technorati is about the reaction that blogger react by reading your blog. You can’t really nothing about it because it must come natural. Yes its take time and more time to find a great article. Look at my technorati rank: 22,651 not bad for a 6 month old blog.

I think it could be up for debate about this gaming the system. A lot of people do memes all the time just for the sake of doing them. OK, so you did it to improve rank. Don’t people who want to earn from blogging do things all the time to improve rank?

It’s no more gaming than writing an article that is 100% linkbait, you know it, and it works.
