I just recently upgraded to version 2.5 and experience no ill effects. Overall, the interface is improved and easy to navigate. One negative for me is not being able to drag and drop widgets between columns. The new method is a bit cumbersome. Other than that, I'm liking the new version.

I would really love to try the new release. Updateing sounds complicated. I am a wordpress n00b. My host had a one click install.

Is upgrading really as simple as I read about?

I haven't had any issues with any of my plugins. I don't use a lot on this site and I always try to keep them up to date, but all my plugins seem to work correctly. There is a list on the Wordpress site that shows which plugins have issues and which work fine.

I've thought about updating, but the thing that scares me is if the plugins I have now don't work properly. I'm read some rants from people annoyed by plugins that they love but haven't been maintained properly through the WP upgrades.

How have your plugins been doing in 2.5 so far?
