100 Dollar a Day Challenge

I was cruising over at the Warrior Forum yesterday and came across this interesting post about Steve Crooks who started a challenge to see if he could take a brand new blog and have it earning 100 dollars a day with Adsense within 3 months. I love to see these types of challenges as they motivate you to succeed. Now whether you make the goal or not its that you actually made a goal. Steve did not make his goal of 100 dollars a day, but he did build a blog that will keep growing and will allow him to generate additional passive income.

I’m reading a book currently by Chris Gardner( he is the guy the the Will Smith movie, “The Pursuit of Happiness” is about). Chris’s latest book is titled start where you are and it has some very good advice. I’m not through with the book yet, but the jist of it is to not be afraid to take chances and use the talents and resources you have to achieve your goals. This is exactly what Steve did with his challenge. He made a public declaration of what he wanted to achieve and then he worked towards it. While some may say he failed because he did not achieve 100 dollars a day. I say he is a winner because he tried.

He got me to thinking perhaps I’ll challenge myself to produce better results than Steve. I discovered a niche last week which has a lot of potential. I have only posted a few articles to the blog I set up and the domain is brand new. This puts me in a position to take the same challenge as Steve, but add my own flavor of promotion and strategy.

This will allow me to do two things. First it allows me to challenge myself to work on this project which is important, because I was recently laid off from my day job and Internet Marketing is my only source of income. While I’m earning enough to pay all my bills and have a little left over, I could always use more and an additional $3 grand a month would come in handy.

I’m not going to reveal this niche, but I will explain my process and provide another niche which could be just as profitable that I’ve found, but have no plans of promoting.

This also gives me something to blog about on this site and perhaps it will help someone learn some new techniques from the process I show with this and how I build blogs to earn money.

Lets start with the awstats from my brand new blog right now. You will see that I only set it up on the 11th which is the same day I registered the domain. right now there are 10 posts on it and I have a list of two hundred post titles which I need to add to the blog before I’m going to be able to reach my goal. And even then its questionable as its really hard to bring a blog from nothing to 3000 dollars in three months or even six months, but I’m going to give it a try. Its not something I’ve ever done, so it will be learning experience for me as well as anyone reading this blog.

Linking Analytics and Adsense to Earn More Money

I’ve been playing around with testing some new Adsense ads on some of my sites. Anyone who has utilized Adsense should know that to receive the highest paying ads and CTR, then you must test. Testing with various colors and placement is paramount to the success you will have with Adsense. This testing has always pretty much been a trial and error thing for me as I’ve never wanted to install any type of third party code to test Adsense conversions. I know there is software out there that will let you track clicks, but I’ve always thought this was against the Adsense rules and I don’t break the rules with Adsense.

This has been around for a while, but I never took advantage of it until the other day. Its possible to link your Adsense account to Google Analytics and you get a lot better information to help you with your testing. I don’t know why I’ve never taken advantage of this as the information is very valuable. This is especially true if you are running some type of dynamic generated site such as wordpress. If you have multiple categories on your blog and you decide to place Adsense within a widget on your sidebar, you can’t really see which of these categories are working the best to earn you money. You could set up a plugin or PHP code to change ads based on your category and use channels which is an effective method of seeing which category is performing the best, but this is not for most people as you need to have a decent knowledge of PHP code to set this up. Of course you still don’t know if a particular article in the category is performing better.Well this problems are solved by integrating your Analytics and Adsense accounts.

Once the accounts are integrated and you add the required code to your templates, then you get a lot more information. You can tell at a glance exactly which pages are performing the best on your site. If you have a page that is really doing well with conversions, then perhaps you want to create more of those type posts. Or a better item would be to highlight that post more on your blog or do some special promotion at a particular page to possibly improve its position in the search engines. Perhaps you can even find new niches within your own blogs which are something you can use to build an entire new blog around.

I’ve only been using this a few days and its probably going to take a while before I get real solid data for trending analysis and learn exactly how to analyze what its telling me, but I’m sure this is going to be an invaluable tool to help me grow my adsense revenue on several of my sites. If you are struggling to earn money with Adsense, then this may be another tool you can use to improve your Adsense earnings.

What do Weight Loss, Golf Training Tips, Dog Training, Surgery, Adsense, Cancer, Beauty Aids, and Acne Treatment have in common with a Make Money Online site

Simple these are all terms that are targets of auto bots. These bots target keywords with weight loss, Golf Training, Dog Training, Surgery, Adsense, Cancer, Beauty aids and Acne treatment as soon as they hit the search engines. So why write about these items they seem so off base from the main topic of this site. And they are but what happens to a post the has tips for Golf, and the greatest way to lose weight ever., while at the same time giving you tips to combat cancer and get the best chance of a successful surgery. If you can ad methods to treat acne in adolescents then you have a serious link bait article for the bots.

If you keep repeating words such as Weight Loss and Tips for improving your Gold swing, while you are improving your adsense earnings, would that cause the bots to come a calling. Could this help a site in some manner. Perhaps to help push it over a certain level with a blogging site. Afterall if you blog about improving your health so you can swing a Golf club better what does that do. These are the questions that must be answered. Fat people can’t really swing a golf club well, because they get tired easily. The truth are the bots are going to call when you include certain keywords and most of the time these keywords can be determined by the hot words with Adsense. After all Adsense is all about targeting the correct keywords to get high paying Adsense ads. This can be done easily with the proper keywords. But if the words are Weight Loss, and the article teaches you have to effectively train your dog or take care of your discus fish, you may trick the bots into generating links for you which help you in the search engines and help you with attracting the highest paying keywords. What would happen if there was a blog post that had a lot of these high paying keywords for Adsense and was targeted towards people who wanted to lose weight and improve their gold swing so they could lower your Golf score and handicap. The post would not make for interesting reading or would it. Might be better to show than to tell. What would happen if you improved your Golf score by 20 strokes. Wouldn’t that be cool. You could play golf great and probably lose weight at the same time. Of course to lose weight while playing golf, you would have to walk and not ride the little cart around the golf course. And it would be very important that you don’t drink beer while trying to lose weight with your golf exercise program. You could bold all the keywords in your article and it would probably help add weight to your adsense keywords and make the bots lust after your content.

The ariticle would not make good reading, but one post our of hundreds would your visitors forgive you as you tested your weight loss, golf tips, while you train your dog to lose weight and tech your dog to swing a golf club better, Afterall your dog may need some decent treatment for that difficult to combat teenage acne. If done properly the acne treatment would really work as you train your dog to complete in dog shows. Of course you would need a lot of keywords to really make them hungry or would too many be an overkill for attracting the bots to your Adsense rich posts. You may even need to create some new categories to see give the bots all they want. Let’s see what happenings. Part 2 comes tomorrow or maybe Friday as I’m traveling.
