Some interesting news on the AP wire today. Robert Soloway who is reported to be one of the top ten spammers in the world has been arrested and charged with 35 counts of various computer crimes.  It appears Soloway has been utilizing a vast array of zombie computers( computer infected with malware without their owners knowledge) to send out millions of SPAM messages across the globe.

Perhaps this arrest will help to reduce the amount of spam I receive every day.  Of course if SPAMMING was not profitable thne people like this would not do it. The government has seized 100 of thousand’s of dollars from Soloway’s bank account, so he’s been making money somewhere. Guess SPAM does pay someone.

I’ve been reading some of Seth Godin’s work lately and I’m amazed by how much information he provides. A lot more than most of the 97 dollar eBooks a lot of people offer. I came across a post about his book “The Dip” and it looks to be full of great information that a lot of marketers can use. I have not read the book yet, but I will be going to buy it soon as I need something to read tomorrow while I’m relaxing by the pool tending the barbecue.

It occurs to me that this is what is wrong with a lot of marketers. So many people get out there and try some new tactic to earn a living on the net. Whether the tactic is valid or not we’ll just suppose it is a valid technique and will earn money if executed properly. But here is the problem most people won’t see it through the dip. Well we are on Day 5 of the Squidoo contest and I’m still hanging in at number 2 with a rank of 167. I guess that is not too bad since I never even really used Squidoo before now. I did create a couple of Lenses a few months ago but did not spend much time on them. I have learned a few things on how to rank better on Squidoo. Its really pretty simple, but I think most people over look it. I’m keeping notes of exactly how I’ve done what I’ve done up to this point and I’ll be sharing those at some point. Well if I win or even make a good showing I will. If I sink, then I’ll probably keep my mouth shut.
