Well I’m off to Seattle for the next few days to attend the Microsoft Most Valauble Professional Summit. I was awarded MVP status a few years ago and have been able to obtain the award ever since. I’m excited to be attending this summit as I will get an inside look at what is coming out of Microsoft in the next couple of years.

One area I’m really interested in is the area of Mashups and will be attending a fairly long session on this topic. Mashups are not really a Microsoft only product, but more of a methodology. I expect Maskups to become the next big thing in the Internet. Think of it as Web 2.0 on steroids. I’ve just got started using Wordpress and I’m still catching up. I ran across a product that explains the process of managing aWordpress installation at The Wp-Revealed site and it looks interesting so I may just decide to purchase this to keep my learning curve down. The eBook looks interesting and it comes with a couple of open source plugins to allow some additional functionality in WordPress.

I’ve also been reading up on Darren Rowse’s series on building a better blog. I really want to build this blog out to a useful resource for everyone. Whether it remains on the topic of Internet Marketing or I delve into other areas, I definitely need to make sure I’m taking advantage of Word Presses valuable features. I don’t really care if this blog earns the amount of money that Darren Rowse or Steve Pavlina earns with their blogs, but I would like to earn enough to pay the hosting fees and maybe take my wife out to dinner every once in a while.
