James Ray Trial

Well I was watching CNN at lunch and saw mention of the James Ray trial and how he broken down crying so hard that the judge had to dismiss the jury and give him time to compose himself. I don’t know if you’ve heard of this but this was a guy selling a self help program where three people died in his sweat lodge. This is not a story I’ve really kept up with and actually I would have probably forgotten about it except that every once in a while I visit the Salty Droid site and he has been keeping up with it pretty well.

Normally I wouldn’t waste my time on this sort of thing but this guy with his fake tears( yes he definitely looked like he was faking) really got to me. Considering the fact that he sold his expensive program to these people and three of them died listening to his advice, then he should be held responsible. I’m sick and tired of all these so called gurus. ( Secret I worked for one and they are not all that), selling people a fantasy and then not delivering on their promises. Seems like this is becoming more and more widespread and now Mr. Ray wants to be let off and have people feel sorry for him. I’m not one of those people. He killed three people. He destroyed their lives and the lives of their families and he needs to pay. Frankly I tihnk the manslaughter charge is lite in this case. They should be trying him for murder one in my humble opinion.

He faked his tears??? Please, you say that like you know the guys heart!!!!!! My opinion which is as important as your opinion is that he was genuine. I watched it as well!!! You are just very negative so anything you see him do will be darkened. You judge people and that is not healthy. Whatever happened to supporting our brothers??? Love the sinner and hate the sin, ya know??? How do you hold so much hate for someone you don’t even know except through the media hype??? He didnt intend to kill those people. They agreed to be there and lied about their states while in the sweat lodge. If I was in that sweat lodge and I had distress I would have booked out of there PRONTO. If James said something I would not have cared because I listen to my body not anything else. What happened to accountablity with people. We talk about these people like they were children but THEY WERE ADULTS!!! Maybe these people needed to think a little bit. I really highly doubt there will be a guilty verdict. I just am not convinced and when I started watching the trial I was actually leaning on the side of the prosecution. Yes, he should be civilly responsible but not criminally. This is a bad situation for him and the participants. However, I do not think James will be allowed (by the court) to hold these events in the future so he will be forced to reinvent himself. But, jail time??? Naw, its not going to happen. You will see.
